Divine Play of Nimai's Love
Gaura Purnima 2026

In Nadia’s lanes where scholars shone,
A brilliant boy would claim the throne.
With logic sharp and verses fast,
He left proud pundits in the past.
They called him Nimai — bold and bright,
A comet robed in learning’s light.
He fenced with words, precise and grand,
With scripture dancing in his hand.
No argument could make him yield,
He ruled the court, the class, the field.
Yet hidden deep, beyond all fame,
There burned a quiet, golden flame.
For this was not mere mortal pride,
Nor ego’s restless, rising tide —
It was a play divinely spun,
A veil before the rising sun.
By Yogamaya’s gentle art,
He masked the treasure of his heart.
The Lord who knew love’s highest peak
Chose first the path of those who seek.
Then destiny — by mercy dressed —
Brought saintly grace into his quest.
He bowed before a guru pure,
Whose glance made trembling love secure.
O blessed name of sacred ray —
Isvara Puri showed the way.
One mantra whispered, soft yet deep,
Awoke a longing from its sleep.
That sound no scholar’s mind could bind,
It broke the fortress of the mind.
The lion of debate grew mild,
The master turned to weeping child.
He wept for Krishna through the night,
His golden limbs alive with light.
No thirst for victory remained —
Only love, unchained, untamed.
The crown of pride he cast aside,
Revealing what he chose to hide:
Not conquered heart, but heart that gives,
The soul in whom pure bhakti lives.
Through Nadia’s streets his kirtan rolled,
More radiant far than minted gold.
And those who mocked his scholar’s art
Now felt their own dissolving heart.
For this was will, not chance nor fall —
A divine descent to rescue all.
He taught the world what sages prove:
The mind may conquer…But God is Love.
For knowledge bends and pride will fall,
But love — pure love — outlives them all.
The greatest wisdom he would prove:
Love for Krishna will one's heart move
